Lacrosse practices in Maastricht are synced with the university’s schedule - Starting with the first day of the semester until Christmas, as well as from February until July. The competition season for both men and women usually is divided from October - Dec as well as February - May, with around 10 games per season. We always promised that Lacrosse will be back, and we finally worked hard with UM Sports and Maastricht University to have all protocols in place that allow us to practice again. At the time of this writing, we are allowed to practice again tomorrow, May 25th on the Sportspark West. We will practice on our usual fields. While the Men's team of Maastricht Lacrosse does not field their own team this season, several of our players joint forces with Namur Lacrosse (2nd Belgian Division). In the first game of the season, 8 players traveled to Antwerp to play against the Antwerp Armadillos. A good game in which Namur trailed 2:4 at some point could be turned around, resulting in a 10:4 win for Namur. On Saturday the 14th of October, the Maastricht Lacrosse Women’s Team joined other clubs from Trier, Saarbrücken, Kaiserslautern and Luxembourg for a Lacrosse Game Day in Trier. It turned out to be a sunny and nice day for the ladies, with many playing their first games after the Newcomer Tournament. 8 Lamasitas traveled all the way down to Trier for a small-field game day. The women played 6 a side with two 15 min periods per game. In order to give new players enough playing
With about fivteen players per team, the Lamas took an early morning train to Nijmegen and after a couple of coffees, everyone was ready to step on the field. Even though it started pouring down the minute the ladies started their first game with some support from Utrecht, they took home their first victory over Leiden. The boys, with some support from Aachen, started against the home team Nijmegen and mimicked their female teammates for the first win. With such a good start
