Scrimmage 2.0: Lamas vs- A-Team

After starting with a fairly new team in February with quiet some rookies, the Lamas Maastricht scheduled another Scrimmage against the Aachen A-Team at the field in Maastricht.

Three month of training paid of and all rookies were able to play and showed their best skills. Aachen went ahead to a 0-3 lead in the first quarter, followed by the 0-1 in the second quarter, sending the players into half-time with an overall score of 0-4.

The Lamas defense did it best to minimize the damage but to many turnovers when Maastricht was in offense made challenged our defense a lot during the first two quarters. Having only two subsidies due to quiet some injuries in the Lamas team (which was fully present at the side-line, responsible for consuming the leftover alcoholic beverages of the rookie night), the physical endurance of the team was tested to its limits. A final result of 1-6 for the A-Team was a fair results. The Lamas showed their best effort and especially in the second half the result of 1-2 showed that the we compete on the same level as Aachen.

This was the last scrimmage with Aachen this year. However, Maastricht and Aachen will form a mixed team and participate in the Berlin Open ’14.

Stix Up!
